CREAMY PASTA

CREAMY  PASTA:
INGREDIENTS:          (serves 6-8)

500  g pasta of choice
6  beef sausages, cut into small pieces
Oil, for frying
250  g mixed mushrooms, shredded
30  g butter or margarine
30  g cake flour
500  ml  full cream milk
3  g nutmeg
70  g blue cheese, crumbled

METHOD:
  • Boil the spaghetti ina large pot of boiling salt water till cooked, but still firm.
  • While the pasta is cooking, heat oil in a pan and fry the sausages till golden brown. Remove and keep aside. Fry mushrooms in the same pan until cooked. Add butter and heat till melted.
  • Sprinkle the flour over and heat, while stirring, until the mixture starts to boil. Add the milk, bit by bit and continue stirring until the mixture starts to thicken, and is cooked.
  • Add the drained, cooked pasta and fried sausages to the mushroom sauce, then add nutmeg and blue cheese. Stir well and serve.
